Overview
Hathaway Burden is a litigator and trial lawyer who focuses on commercial and employment litigation. She has represented clients in bench and jury trials in state and federal courts as well as in appellate matters and arbitrations.
A vigorous advocate with a reputation for being responsive and approachable, Hathaway helps clients not only with solid legal strategies but in navigating the uncertainties and stresses of litigation. She works to demystify the litigation process even as she pursues solutions that align with her clients’ legal and business objectives.
Commercial litigation. Hathaway has defended clients in a range of matters including lawsuits arising from claims involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, trademark infringement, ownership and partnership disputes, and other matters.
Employment litigation. She has also handled employment disputes arising from discrimination claims, harassment allegations, wrongful discharge claims, non-competition and restrictive covenants, among others.
Clients. Hathaway’s clients include institutional clients of all sizes in the public and private sectors, including a public university, a global online retailer, and a shoe company.
