Summit Secures Second Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in 2022 - 2023
Summit Law Group proudly announces our Midsize Mansfield Rule Certification Plus status. This indicates we have successfully achieved 30 percent diverse representation in current leadership roles, formal client pitches, and staffing on key matters, in addition to meeting or exceeding the consideration requirements. "Summit is proud to be among those firms that have taken active and concrete steps to increase inclusivity and diversity in their leadership ranks by achieving Mansfield Plus Certification," says CEO Kristin Anger. "The results speak for themselves: over 70 percent of the leadership positions at Summit are currently held by historically underrepresented lawyers, including our CEO role. We can see that advancing diversity in leadership translates to more ideas, improved solutions, and a better workplace."
The overall goal of the Midsize Mansfield Rule is to increase diversity and transparency in leadership pipelines within midsize law firms by broadening the pool of women lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, and/or underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers who are considered for entry-level and lateral attorney job openings, firm governance opportunities, equity partner promotions, and opportunities to connect with clients.
To achieve Mansfield Certification, our firm implemented a behavioral science and data-driven approach—designed by Diversity Lab in collaboration with talent experts, data scientists, and lawyers—to help increase diversity in leadership. We considered broad slates of qualified talent for leadership roles that included at least 30% historically underrepresented lawyers—such as women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities. Additionally, we have worked hard to enhance the transparency of their leadership roles, advancement processes, and compensation policies. Click here to view the full press release.
