Summit Reaffirms Commitment to Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in 2024-25
Having achieved consecutive Mansfield Plus Certification since 2022, Summit Law Group proudly reaffirms its commitment to the 2024–25 Mansfield Certification process. Mansfield is a year-long structured certification process designed to ensure all qualified talent at participating law firms has a transparent, fair, and equal opportunity to be considered for advancement into leadership. The annual endeavor asks firms to recommit to the principles of transparency, accountability, and knowledge-sharing required through the certification process—Diversity Lab partners with all Mansfield firms to foster transparent and inclusive pathways to leadership in law.
"While increasing diversity throughout the legal profession is a priority, creating leadership pathways within law firms for lawyers identifying from historically underrepresented and marginalized groups is critical to ensuring inclusive and equitable workplaces," Kristin Anger, CEO, said.
To achieve Mansfield Certification, Summit implements a behavioral science and data-driven approach—designed by Diversity Lab in collaboration with talent experts, data scientists, and lawyers—to help increase diversity in leadership. Consistent, inclusive leadership opportunities also require measurable actions evaluated over time. To maintain its effectiveness at diversifying leadership over time, the Certification standards continue to evolve based on data-backed insights.
"Renewing our commitment year after year aligns with inclusivity best practices that deliver results. We're not only trying, we're succeeding: over 60% of the leadership positions at Summit are held by women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, and LGBTQ+ lawyers. We see the direct benefits of diverse leadership in the culture and success of our firm," Kristin Anger said.
Noted as an "Early Adopter" of the 365+ firms participating in the 2024–25 Mansfield Certification cycle, Summit is excited to continue contributing to this vibrant community. Data shows that firms that remain committed and accountable to the Mansfield Certification process year-over-year are making substantial progress in creating inclusive talent practices and diversifying their leadership ranks.
Firms that successfully achieved Certification in the most recent cohort (2023-24) will be announced soon in fall 2024. Click HERE to view the full press release.
