Summit Secures Another Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in 2023 - 2024
Summit Law Group proudly announces that our firm has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus for 2023–24! Mansfield is a year-long, structured certification process commitment that ensures all talent at our firm has a fair and equal opportunity to advance into leadership. The focus is on opening the door wider and ensuring that opportunities for advancement are transparent and inclusive for everyone.
"At Summit, we take pride in being a Mansfield Early Adopter amongst mid-sized law firms in Seattle. We aim to amplify our diverse group of attorneys and firm leadership through inclusive engagement, learning, communication, and outreach, participating in LEAD-WA, and through pro-bono and financial support of organizations that promote and foster diversity in the legal profession," said Partner Evan Chinn, who serves as Summit's current DEI Officer. "This year, attorneys and staff have participated in, volunteered, and financially contributed to many local organizations and events, including QLaw, ABAW, Alexander Hamilton Scholars, and MAMA of Seattle. Our Summiteers are also committed to organizations that seek to support economic and cultural diversity in our community, such as Food Lifeline and Plymouth Housing Group. Through its individuals and as a firm, Summit strives to best serve our client base through our continued learning and awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion."
To achieve the Mansfield Plus Certification, Summit voluntarily provides data to Diversity Lab to show the progress and outcomes of our efforts to broaden talent pools and increase the visibility of our advancement processes. This transparency allows Diversity Lab and us to celebrate progress and identify areas with continued opportunities for improvement. Summit also implements a behavioral science and data-driven approach—designed by Diversity Lab in collaboration with talent experts, data scientists, and lawyers—to help increase diversity in leadership. Consistent, inclusive leadership opportunities also require measurable actions evaluated over time. To maintain its effectiveness at diversifying leadership over time, the Certification standards continue to evolve based on data-backed insights.
Data shows that firms that remain committed and accountable to the Mansfield Certification process year-over-year are making substantial progress in creating inclusive talent practices and diversifying their leadership ranks.
We are proud to stand with the 360+ firms that have achieved Mansfield Certification to advance a core value in the legal profession: the belief that everyone should have a fair opportunity for career advancement. We believe that by making our workplace one where everyone can succeed, we can better serve our clients and communities. Click HERE to view the full press release.
