Washington Superior Court Victory

Summit Partners Shannon Phillips and Molly Terwilliger obtained a ruling in King County Superior Court in favor of clients ABM Industries Incorporated and ABM Parking Services (now ABM Onsite Services – West, Inc.). Summit had earlier obtained an order dismissing the plaintiff’s wrongful discharge claim as legally deficient. The Court granted summary judgment in favor of the companies and an individual executive, dismissing with prejudice the former employee’s claims of discrimination, retaliation, breach of handbook promises, and negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Summit also obtained an award of monetary sanctions against the plaintiff and her counsel for asserting claims against individual managers that were not factually or legally well grounded.
