Summit Achieves Mansfield Rule Certification
Summit Law Group is proud to announce that we have achieved Mansfield Rule Certification Plus in Diversity Lab’s inaugural Midsize Certification cohort. “The Mansfield Certification program lines up very well with our firm’s values and our ongoing commitment to promoting the diversification of all levels of our firm,” says CEO Rod Younker. “We are proud of this recognition, but even more proud of the ongoing growth in our organization because of our efforts to improve our recruitment, development and promotion of talented people from historically underrepresented groups.”
The overall goal of the Midsize Mansfield Rule is to increase diversity and transparency in leadership pipelines within midsize law firms by broadening the pool of women lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, and/or underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers who are considered for entry-level and lateral attorney job openings, firm governance opportunities, equity partner promotions, and opportunities to connect with clients.
To achieve Midsize Mansfield Certification, our firm collaborated with Diversity Lab on an 18-month pilot certification process with built-in measurements, transparency, and accountability. As a Mansfield Certified Plus firm, we also achieved 30 percent diverse representation in current leadership roles, formal client pitches, and staffing on key matters. Diversity Lab is an incubator for innovative ideas and solutions that boost diversity and inclusion in law. Experimental ideas are created through our Hackathons and piloted in collaboration with more than 250 top law firms and legal departments across the country. Diversity Lab leverages data, behavioral science, design thinking, and technology to further develop and test new ideas and research, measure the results, and share the lessons learned.
