Real Estate Paralegal

POSITION SUMMARY

Our paralegals are highly competent, efficient, and valued collaborators. They participate in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions and are heavily involved in analyzing title reports and ALTA surveys, drafting documents; maintaining deal calendars; and coordinating closings; the successful candidate will be extremely proficient in all these areas. Additional duties include document review, project management, tracking due diligence, and corresponding with clients. This position is great for those with experience in title or brokers’ offices, though mid-to large-sized law firm experience is highly valued and ideal.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, edit, proofread, and finalize real estate documents
  • Review and analyze title documents and ALTA surveys with little direction
  • Manage all aspects of purchase and sale transactions, including drafting closing documents, tracking due diligence, and coordinating with title and escrow
  • Ensure compliance with client, jurisdictional, and firm requirements

Minimum qualifications

  • 10+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience, including:
    • Title and survey review
    • Deal management
    • Closing coordination, including title notices, CC&R amendments, and tracking deadlines
  • Outstanding document processing abilities in MS Word, including styles, page breaks, and tables
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in Excel, Outlook, Adobe, DocuSign, track changes, and web-based document management systems
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to meeting deadlines, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • A willingness to learn, adjust to different attorney working styles, a proactive, “run to the fire” approach to work, and a positive attitude

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Summit strives for competitive compensation and benefit packages. We offer health, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability plans, with family packages available. Our Employee Assistance Program provides short-term support for mental health services, financial planning, and legal aid. 401K options include Roth and traditional accounts, matching, profit sharing, and immediate vesting. Summit also offers bonuses based on firm performance, commuter benefits, ten paid holidays, and opportunities for hybrid schedules.

While subject to change, we also provide offices for legal staff, firm-funded HSA accounts, and a dog-friendly firm.

The salary for this position ranges from $100-125k, depending on experience and skillset, given a minimum of 10 years of experience.
